Roe Deer - Little Marlow GP

Roe Deer are fairly regular visitors to the open sand spit late in the evening.  I managed to see these three with the sun still on them.
A peaceful September evening.  Just a few birds on the sand spit.

Then Three Roe Deer put in an appearance.

Two males and a juvenile.

Osprey at Weston Turville Reservoir

This individual had been present for a week when I decided to visit.  I had not been there long when it put in an appearance, circling and fishing.
Osprey - It is in there somewhere!

For much better photos of this bird visit the Bucks Bird Club website (photos section) and search for Ospreys

Common Buzzard also flew over

Stoke Common

Stoke Common is interesting in that it can turn up some really good birds but at other times appear bird-less.  Today did not start of well but I did pick up a few birds such as Kestrel, Green Woodpecker, Skylark and Meadow Pipits.  The best came right at the end when I found these birds:-

Whinchat - Just passing through.

Stonechat - One of at least three present.
This included a female and at least two juveniles.

Little Marlow GP - Black Tern and Others

Black Tern - The first reported in Bucks this year!
Unfortunately the bird remained in the centre of the lake and I could only mange these distant shots.

Black-headed Gull - Coloured ringed "White 6EC".
This bird was ringed in Denmark.  Details awaited.

Spotted Flycatcher - Several were present around the lake.  This one took up residence in a dead tree between the car park and the cottages and was consequently seen by many observers.

Whinchats - Westhorpe, Marlow

Apparently three birds had been present earlier in the day.  During a brief visit I saw two.

Grey Wagtail - Little Marlow GP

Seen landing on some Lilypads close to the bank. The bird fluttered across the partly submerged vegetation.  The bird appears to be a juvenile.

Speckled Wood Butterfly

Two Speckled Wood Butterflys played a visit to our garden and both landed on the same window frame, so the two photos are of different individuals.

Barred Warbler - Staines Moor

Discovered on 2nd September and remaining until 5th at least.
When I saw the bird it was feeding on Blackberries from time to time, moving around the bush fairly slowly allowing it to be digiscoped.  It did remain in the bush out of sight for about 45 minutes when I first arrived.  Perhaps 20-30 birders came and went in the two hours I was there.
The bird has what appears to be a Tick on the throat. It can clearly be seen in some of the photos.
