My Other Birding Blogs

This blog gives me the opportunity to put together photos of birds and other wildlife taken in various locations in the UK.  As I live at Flackwell Heath in South Bucks, many of the photos are from this area and in particular my local patch at Little Marlow Gravel Pit which is just a couple of miles away.

Many of my better photos that are taken in Buckinghamshire are also uploaded onto the Buckinghamshire Bird Club website but there is a size limitation on that website and I am able to make a better presentation of a number of photos within my own blog.

This was a two week trip to Southern Ecuador incuding the Andres, the Tumbes region and into the edge of the Amazon basin.

2020 Colombia

A two week visit to this top birding destination with Manakin Nature Tours.  Much of the time was spent at higher altitudes in the Andes. Focus was on endemic and near endemic species as well as Hummingbirds.

A visit to the Himalayan country of Bhutan to see some of the birds that live in this high altitude kingdom.

2018 Costa Rica
A trip to find the Costa Rican endemic species as well as Hummingbirds.  Of course we expected to see lots of other species along the way.

A trip to Southern Thailand in search of Spoon-billed Sandpiper and a wide range of Thailands amazing birds!

2016 Brazil
A trip to the Atlantic rainforest in Brazil with other members of the Bucks Bird Club.  Also a few days at REGUA.

A birding trip to the more northerly parts of the country including Henri Pittier National Park, Yacambu National Park and Moraccoy.  With other members of the Bucks Bird club and run by Naturetrek.

2009 Ecuador - Cock of the Rock Tour
A trip to both sides of the Andes, either side of the capital Quito.  With other members of the Bucks Bird Club and run by Naturetrek.
The rarest Owl in the world?  This was an un-named species, was given the unofficial name of the San Isidro Owl and certainly one of the hightlights of the trip.


2007 Costa Rica
A trip to the NW of Costa Rica.  Four members of the Bucks Bird Club.

More of a holiday than a birding trip and quite a few nice mammal moments.
